MEDICAL DEFINITIONS - SUNDAY 2:27 PM

So far I have been talking in fairly general terms with regards to some of the key metrics that we measure here. I will start being more specific so everyone has a clearer picture of Cody's condition. I have been using the term "coma inducing drugs". What I am mainly referring to is Pentobarbital.

Pentobarbital
is a nonselective central nervous system depressants which are primarily used as sedative hypnotics and also anticonvulsants in subhypnotic doses.

I have also been referring to Cody's brain pressure or brain swelling. This is called ICP or Internal Cranial Pressure. This shows up on the monitors as a number. Currently this number is 8, which is awesome. I have seen it as high as 26. Under 20 is the general goal.

Cody, I still remember you routinely running from the Killington Base Lodge to the Training Center in bare feet in the middle of winter, even if there was a blizzard and/or below zero temps. A man that was always meant to be on the mountain... I think you also had a sweet early 90s Bula hat. Keep fighting, bud!

Absolutely blown away by Team Marshall. You are doing an amazing job of being there through every second, getting it right and keeping everyone informed. If I can feel it here at home in Park City, Cody is absorbing it at ground zero. My most positive thoughts are with you Cody for a full recovery! But take your time getting through this first set of gates. You need to get a second run to win!

Team Marshall definitely sounds like you're on it. Go Cody, go! I also remember you running barefoot between KBl and the training center. There is a pie in the oven right now that I will hopefully be able to bring down to you all tomorrow.
Positive thoughts and lots of love.

Cody, I'm Tucker Severson's mother, and I know how worried Tucker has been. I want you to know that my brother had a traumatic brain injury at about your age. The doctors did not expect him to recover. My mother read to him and talked to him all day, every day, and he is now 56 years old, finished college and grad school - he beat the odds, and, with the support you clearly have, you will too. Hang in there. Take your time, if you have to, but keep fighting. Obviously you are loved and admired by many, and you WILL pull through this. I can't wait to hear that you have come back to your friends and family. We're thinking about you every day and sending get well wishes your way, from New Hampshire.

Cody all the old weekend warriors at Killington are thinking about you.

We all still follow your results so we can say "when I was a J3 at least the kid who was beating me by 2 seconds is on the world cup now."

Cody you could have scoffed at all of us who were not as good but you were always such a nice kid to us that were not KMSers and we all remember that to this day.

I remember at the Bermuda Open when we were 11 or 12 you won by so much you laid down on the back of your skis and went under the finish beam...you caused quite a ruckus but us kids loved it.

Ed Kenney and I enjoy following you now and will enjoy following you once again.

Hang in there bud. Team Marshall stay strong we are all thinking about you.

Air is commonly trapped within the skull in patients who have been treated for trauma or intracranial hemorrhage. In Sweden, when such a patient is transported by air ambulance it is standard procedure to maintain sea-level pressure in the cabin to prevent increased intracranial pressure (ICP). However, this type of flight operation is more difficult and expensive. Maintenance of sea-level cabin pressure is not common practice all over the world, and the criteria supporting the choice of pressurization during transport are inadequate and in need of evaluation.
