A PERSONAL NOTE - JESSE
I am completely overwhelmed and amazed at the outpouring of love and support from everyone. It has been so incredibly humbling and has given me the strength to help Cody day in and day out. I love reading your comments to Cody. I love hearing the stories from you that have come to see him. My grandmother, who is back east, has her neighbors print up all the comments and she loves reading them. My parents actually get on this internet thing and read the comments. People who know Cody love reading the comments. People who don't know Cody love reading the comments. Your sincerity and compassion comes through loud and clear. It helps all of us and I thank you.
I started writing because there was not enough time to talk to everyone who was calling. I had no idea how many people Cody has touched and how many people would follow Cody's progress. It amazes me the Poma Operator at Killington (20-15 years ago) to the groomer at Sugarbush to his competitors on the World Cup have all checked in and taken the time to write about Cody. He is truly special and blessed to have such amazing support. The nurses today told me that even they are following the blog before they come in to see how Cody did during the previous shift.
To the staff - The care and attention you give Cody is simply awesome. Your dedication and compassion is inspiring. Thank you for taking the time to answer all my questions and many times for answering them twice. For this I won't tell Cody who the pinchers are!

All of the Schlopy's are thinking of Cody every day. We last saw him on the float at the 4th of July parade. We yelled his name loud enough for him to hear us and he came over to squirt Spider up close with his giant water gun. He stood there for a long time smiling at Spider and then decided not to squirt him. I think he thought it might hurt him. Little did he know I thought Spider would absolutely love it. He has got the daredevil skier genes for sure. Cody has always been so very sweet to me, Erik and our kids. I think about him every day and send him and his family all of my love and support.
love, summer

Hey Jesse,
Thanks for another touching note. You are a great writer...very compassionate. I have probably already done so, but thank you for writing and doing an amazing job at keeping everyone near and far updated. I check the blog probably 10 times a day and also have enjoyed reading other's comments about their experiences with Cody or their support to him and your family. This experience has been so touching, but we continue to pray and think positive thoughts for Cody's recovery. Make sure to give him a pinch for all the folks back in Vermont. BTW, did you see the photo of the Eliteam wall I posted? I thought that was amazing...take care for now...Hope you guys are managing to get some sleep here and there...thinking of you all!!

Cody,
I was just remembering my sophomore year at GMVS when you were a PG and I asked you to prom in the spinning room. Naturally I was in my bike shorts and you were totally caught off guard but in your own way you let me down in the kindest of ways...."Sorry I don't dance"
Love and prayers,
Morgan

Cody-
I am so happy to read that U are staying strong and getting better! Keep it up!
It is 7 am over here, but where u are about midnight I think...
I'm leaving for Bali today - excited! I was gonna send you a typical Norwegian card to you with some Viking spirits, but strangely enough, not a single bookstore had a card with a viking on it. What happened to the "nationalism", I thought, but I guess that's a part of our history we're not exactly supposed to brag about anyways...
However, I have a funny story for you. Not sure if I told you about my dad earlier on, but he had a stroke in August about a year ago, then heart surgery in November, then a "relapse" of the stroke, and it is now going pretty slow with him. He has lost a lot of the control/feeling/mobility in his left side, so walking goes pretty slow, and he's not very good at getting out on his own. I figured we'd walk to the nearest grocery store yesterday....
Normally it takes me 10min one way, it took us 3hrs back and fourth. On the way there, he was about to give up, and I told him to sit down on this roller thing he uses (u know the one old folks have in front of them with a little tray on and stuff), and then I'd roll him as he was in a wheel chair. Haha! You should have seen it. This 6"1 man struggling to keep his feet off the ground, me pushing as hard as possible, we were flying through the traffic lights, couldn't stop, the drivers were laughing at us and I couldn't stop laughing which actually made my dad afraid he was gonna fall off... Anyways, on our way back, he was soooo exhausted and asked me if I brought my cell phone. I said no, yes, I lied, cause I know he'd just ask me to call a cab. Impatient as I can get sometimes, I was annoyed with him complaining cause I don't think he pushes himself as hard as he should, & I turned to him and said, "well, at least you are not lying in a hospital bed, having to fight as hard as you possibly can to wake up from a coma, and not capable at all to move right now like my friend Cody! He is a hundres times if not more of a fighter than you." My dad got this really sad look on his face, said "Oh, man that's really shitty." He kept walking, didn't complain one more time, and I truly believe that your situation made him reflect on his own situation not being as bad as he thought. Sooooo, in a strange way YOU managed to motivate my dad (you have NO idea how hard this is)to walk faster, better, harder and trust me, that was like a marathon to him. My point is that you have to keep on fighting as hard as you are!! You're awesome, so strong, such a great friend and we all need you to recover fast!
If I find a viking (or wiking as I usually say by mistake) at the Oslo Airport I will send it to you.
Keep fighting and I'll check for updated again when I'm in Bankok!
Jesse & Chelsea - u guys are amazing & I'm so thankful for all the updates we get to read! It feels so great to be able to participate on this to share our thoughts with Cody!

It's good to read, that Cody is doing better. I really hope and wish, it will go on this way.
Let me also say "thank you" to you, Chelsea and Jesse, for your updates. I read them every evening, when I come home from work, since Lindsey posted the link on her facebook - site.
I'm sure, it's not easy for you, but when Cody is ok again, he will be proud of his brother, sister and friends.
Best wishes to all of you
Manfred
