A PERSONAL NOTE - CHELSEA

I am just sitting here with Cody, wearing his favorite sweatshirt and wrapped up in his blanket while he squeezes my hand. It's amazing to see the progress he has made. Some of his visitors just left with smiles on their faces knowing and seeing the small improvements Cody has made daily.

    Chelsea,
You just put a smile on my face reading your note!
Did you get to do some Abs in the lobby with the boys tonight? I love how you are keeping everyone in line. You Rock Girlfriend!!! I just wanted to remind you again how incredible you are. I will also make sure I remind Cody of that too (especially when he wakes up and he goes to punch you b/c you just pinched him) I am sorry I missed you the other day when I came to visit. I was glad to hear that Worm, TJ and the boys got you up to the training center. But, I hope when you returned, Jesse and Draven shared all the cookies with you!! So, I know tomorrow will be full of lots more little victories for Cody. I look forward to reading all about them. Some wise person told me once, it is all about "Progress, Not Perfection" It made me chuckle, then it made me think, Hmmm, that kinda makes sense. So for all it is worth, my interpretation, we have to hold on to all the little victories and if we keep moving forward we are moving in the right direction. Right? I am so happy to read about all the successes Cody had today, and just wanted to Thank you again for your note. And, before I went to sleep, I wanted to let you know, I am sending Cody and his amazing sister all my prayers, thoughts, love and hope! Jenny

ELITEAM is heading to the Sandpits for some intense anaerobic training. I bet you have done sandpits at Burke. We will let you have the first run down as a forerun in spirit so you can show these kids how it is done. Then they will be chasing you down the whole afternoon.

Have a great day and welcome back as you start to come out of it. All of VT is thinking of you and cheering you on. Go Cody Go!

Chelsea, you are the best. Make sure you keep getting out and WORKING out. Need to see you back on WC STRONG and ripping it up this year. I like it a whole lot better when I get to call your races for Universal and you kick some Euro ASS!

Have a good day Marshall Family and friends.

Dear Cody, This is your fourth grade teacher from Sherburne Elementary (also, Chelsea’s and Tucker’s). I am sending you my thoughts and prayers. You were in my very first 4th grade class. I still remember the story you wrote about Tucker as a baby. After reading his note to you, I understand why you loved him and all your family so! You have always been such a strong young man, I am certain you’re your strength and all the support and love of your family and friends will lead you to recovery. I will keep you in my thoughts. It is so great to hear that Cody is improving so much! I'm sure it's incredible to feel him squeeze your hand again. Hopefully he'll get enough strength to start retaliating for all the pinching soon. Stay strong and we are continuously praying for you all. Come on Cody!!!

    Chelsea,

You prob don't remember me...but Melissa Welch Patterson is one of my best friends..she and I were lifeguards together at the rec..when you were just 3 or 4 years old,and I remember chasing Cody around the pool with my silly whistle thinking I was so in charge...hahaha.... You are giving Cody just what he needs, as is your entire family and friends..As a nurse who spent 5 years working in the Pediatric ICU at Dartmouth, I have seen amazing things happen from faith and support, KEEP it up!....Cody is something else...I am so proud of your entire family. After speaking at length with Melis..I called my little brother Joe, and he reminded me he was Cody's "big friend" at SES......even though we have not seen you all in years....Killington is such a tight place, and we all are praying every day for Cody's quick recovery. Hugs...Sarah

    Cody,
Keep pushing through it. We are so glad to hear positive updates day in day out. I know you will make it through this, you and your family are very strong, so keep fighting. We are all pushing for you and send every inch of support and all of our prayers your way.

We've been through a lot together, and it is great to see the many different faces that have written in. Mrs. Dorion, our 4th grade teacher, to the whole ski community. I will never forget all the times we had growing up in VT and skiing all day at Killington and kicking ass as JV's-JIII's. Nobody could stop us, we had energy, motivation, drive, strength, support, and as you know skill. These are all characteristics that you still have and I know will help you fight your way through this. Remember the birthday parties, Kristen had a clown, Heidi had sledding parties, Morgan got down with MC Hammer, and Suki made us try Tofu, aahh! Lots of good times growing up and good times grown up.

Get better and keep fighting so we can have some more. Wish I could make it out there, but I send everything I got. Keep Fighting!

To the Family: My family and I send all of prayers and best regards. I know this must be very hard, but you are all very close and have a strong bond.Keep pushing and keep the good news coming.

    Best Wishes,
    Tyler Hughes

    Chelsea,

Thanks for the recent update. Our team was in the gym yesterday after Lindsey visited Cody. We were all so excited to hear about the progress he made and were cheering him on from the COE. It was so nice to see you and the other boys in there the other day, but we all can't wait to see you and Cody back there together.

I am continually inspired by the strength that you are all showing, it is truly amazing. Hang in there, I am sure that today will show just as many little miracles. We will continue to be thinking of you, your family and of course Cody.

    Love, Emily
