REHAB UPDATE WED 6:32PM
We are preparing for Cody's surgery tomorrow at 7:30am we have taken everything down in his room as he will return to the NCCU after the surgery and will be in a different room. He did really well on his PT today and had to do a lot of different balance test. He is still having some issues balacing but it is improving over time.
There are a lot of risks involved in the surgery tomorrow so we are very nervous but focused on the positive. Tomorrow at 7:30am if you are awake think cody. The surgery is 1 hour if all goes smoothly. He will remain in the NCCU for a couple of days to make sure all is well and to monitor any neurological decline or brain swelling.
We enjoyed the day today with him and look forward to getting through tomorrow to have that out of the way, it also opens up the door for him to be able to do more rehab once his bone flap is back on.
As with any surgery the waiting sucks a brain surgery is just beyond nerve racking right now so please send your thoughts and energy to the codeman, the surgeon Dr. Jensen and all the nurses.....I will look forward to posting positive news tomorrow.

If I ever wrote a "GO CODY GO" in all of this time, I mean it more than ever right now! You have done remarkable things in the past 6-7 weeks, and we are all so proud of you!

Cooooodyyy!!!!!!! SENDING YOU EVERYTHING I GOT FOR TOMORROW!!!! Best of luck. You need to update me on your data plan when you're done kicking ass, I'm worried you might be going over your minutes. I am sending positive thoughts and prayers your way for the big day tomorrow. This is just one more huge step on the road to recovery and I know you will pull through just fine. You are in great hands I'm sure. They have trained many years to help people like you...so remember, it is scarey for you because you have never been through it before and I am pretty sure this wonderful and talented medical staff would never hurl themselves down an icy mountain in all kinds of weather to get to the bottom faster than the next guy! So...that said keep the nerves intack and keep fighting you have come so far and soon this big step will be behind you! Go Cody Go!

I have a family member with a TBI as well as having treated so many wonderful clients, who also underwent surgery to replace the bone flap removed to save life. You will fly thru this , and be happy to get rid of the helmut and be able to scratch your whole head with out fear....Good luck tomorrow, GO Cody GO

It is almost 7:30 here in Vermont. Beautiful crisp morning. The sun is shining. A great day to fight through a touch surgery. You will do soo well today!!! We'll be thinking of you....stay strong. Praying very hard for you to get through this surgery very strong! You are an example.
I had 2 surgeries myself for totally different reasonthen yours between April and August of this year and still fighhting the heck here with tummy burning pain at 4:30am. Tough !! And brain surgery is not what I had to endure but you are a rock of strength!!!!, young and will WIN THIS ONE TOO CODY!!

Hi Cody
I work with your Mom at PSIA and have been following your story since day 1. When I used to run PSIA events, your Mom made me crazy - she would come in each morning, pick up her group and then disappear until almost dark. I never quite knew where she was or what she was doing but her evaluations were always exceptional. I came to understand that her groups loved how hard she worked them and how focused she was. Sounds like you've inherited those traits - so dig down deep today, get through this surgery, and by the time Draven (who apparently is a God among mere mortals, you are amazing man) reads you this, you will be ready to focus on your rehab and getting out of there and back on skis. I'm hoping that soon we'll be reading your race results in Ski Racing mag instead of on this blog. Good luck. We're all thinking about you and pulling for you today here at windham.

Hello Cody,
I'm thinking of you this morning and sending you healing thoughts. I know you're going to get through this. I also wanted to say that I'm sorry you're deaf in one ear. In light of that, I'll give you some advice. I'm not sure if you're getting a hearing aid, but there are some things to think about.
1) Sometimes doctors want to give you two. For me, two hearing aids gave me headaches so I stuck with one.
2) You might want to get one that attaches to your ipod/iphone to listen to music.
3) If you do get a hearing aid, PLEASE PLEASE put it on some kind of insurance. I'm kicking myself in the ass right now because I lost mine a week ago (I hope mom is not reading this). There are specific hearing aid insurances or you can put it on your renters or homeowners insurance in case you lose it. (Hearing aids cost $2,500 more or less. They are not paid for by health insurance.)

Codeman, YOur killing me. I did not know you were going in for surgery today at 7:30am. I will keep you in my prayers. I am sure everything will go well. YOu have progressed on a daily basis.
