CODYLAND UPDATE! MON 11:20PM
Hello from Codyland!
So we got him home early this afternoon. The smile on his face was ear to ear it was heartwarming to see and experience. We went to the NCCU and said Thank you and goodbye to everyone they were so happy to see him and amazed at his recovery rate.
We came home got him settled in, read some cards he received, showed him his room and where everything is and the we sat around outside on the patio for a while. We then came in and he had a nap on the sofa for about an hour and a half. When he woke up we talked some more and showed him the scrapbook we have been compiling which he thought was sweet and then he decided he wanted to go for an outing.
So we went to the grocery store where he got a Starbucks coffee and sat with Chelsea while I shopped for about 2 hours to stock the house with food. My aggressive goal is to put weight back on him at the tune of a pound a day
I made him one of the dishes he loves that I make for dinner and needless to say I think the amount he ate put 2 healthy pounds on him.
It is the most amazing feeling for all of us to have him home and to know he is in the other room will make us sleep sound tonight. His mother arrived tonight Cody went with Chelsea to pick her up so we all had dinner together which was awesome and our friend Jen joined us for the mellow evening.
We are truly blessed to have him home and to have all of your support through these times. Before bed we wrote his schedule with him for tomorrow so the day is planned out. So so far my plan is working
Also I will be posting his Social time everyday so visitors and friends are aware of this time so they know when he is available to hang out. This posted time is for you to schedule visits, activities, hang time with Cody etc. consider it calling to schedule a play date. Of course as we know this said time is the goal. However and for the record I have implemented a no dropping by unannounced policy.
He will also have activities after social time that he may choose to have friends involved in depending on the activity and his mood.
I need a nuns ruler....lol Am I the hall monitor or what....sheesh.
His Target Schedule tomorrow is as follows:
Breakfast 9:00-10:00am Pancakes and Hash browns
Rest 10:00-11:00am
Social Time in or out of house 11:00-1:30pm (visitors it is important to call so we can schedule people and maintain low stimuli)
Lunch 1:30-2:00pm Fried Chicken
Rest 2:00 -4:00pm
Painting 4:00 - 5:30pm
Rest 5:30 - 7:00pm
Dinner 7:00-8:00pm Pork Chops & Mashed Potatoes
Free Time 8:00pm -0n with a goal of
Bedtime by 10:00pm
We shall see how the first day goes fingers crossed I will let you know tomorrow.
Hugs and thanks everyone for your continued encouragement and support.

In reading all this I have been wondering if you have conveyed Cody's story to Warren Miller or to any other ski movie makers. It might be something Warren would like to cover or maybe even have a showing of his new movie in Park City as a benefit for Cody. Just a thought and probably you guys thought of it long before, but I thought it would be worth mentioning. I am so glad Cody is at home and hope that all future reports will be happy reports of progress.

Someone of his family/friends should get in touch with Warren. His new movie showing usually starts in early October (I think) so there might be time to set something up. Thanks for providing the contact info.

Happy to hear you are home safe and sound with your family. The schedule sounds great, take it easy and you will continue to heal each day. Don't give Draven a hard time!
Draven,if people offer to help take them up on it. Let them clean, shop, answer phones, etc. The no unscheduled visitors is essential to everyone's well being.
My thoughts are with all of you.

Hey Codeman !!! Congratulations... I am so happy for all of you that you were able to come home as scheduled. I am sure it will speed up your recovery being in a more comfortable atmosphere. And it surely will help Draven get a good nite sleep. I hear you have a celebrity in the house Baaaaaarb. Say hello for me. Funny thing happened this morning Courtney was making her lunch today for work. She says to me mom who does this remind you of? It was a toasted peanut butter sandwich. I immediately said Tucker. She said nope all the Marshall kids. So you see in some crazy ways your always on our mind. Keep up the good work Codeman. Remember rest is just as important to your recovery. Draven I have to say you are amazing, You even cook! Well off to Vt. for another week before I start back to work. Go Codeman go...

Welcome Home Cody! I already know that today is going to be wonderful. How good you must feel to finally be back to normal surroundings. "There's no place like home" must have a very special meaning for you right now. It makes me smile to think of you going through your schedule -- and I'm sure you'll be sticking with that schedule -- getting reacquainted with a normal routine. I'm looking forward to watching how your schedule gets adjusted over the next few months as you get back to feeling like your old self and REALLY back to normal activities.
You just keep impressing the world, and we're happier than you can even imagine to see what you're capable of. Keep going Cody!

Wow, Cody - what fabulous news! You must be elated to be "home" and out of that hospital. I bet with all the recent accomplishments, you also have a little extra swagger in your step (which is WELL deserved). You better be careful, a confident good looking guy like you is going to have to beat the ladies ooff with a stick on your next outing!
Full moon this week! I think Thursday? Make sure you leave some of your free time before bed to enjoy it.
Go Cody go - you ROCK!

Welcome home to Park City. We missed you at TJ's birthday party poolside Saturday. There was talk of stealing you from the hospital for the afternoon, but knowing you, you would be in the pool and drinking beer, which I am sure is a no-no for awhile longer. Hope to see you soon. Love, Deb

Wow!
Amazing news! I took it steady when I got out of hospital with my Pituitary tumour eight years ago. TBI sounds different in some ways, but oh so familiar in others! I think one should take each day at a time. Draven you are amazing. Best wishes to you all in the family.
Regards,
Stephen Booth.

I was so glad to hear that Cody was able to go home. I can only imagine the cost and strain your family is going through, and yet, how excited you are that things are going well for him. We would like to run a story and hope it helps with any fundraising efforts. If I can help you, please contact me at The Park Record at 435-649-9014 ext 113.

Draven,
You are amazing!!! I have been following your updates since day one and totally believe Cody has recovered so fast because of you. Are you an angel, I sometimes wonder. Please remember to take care of yourself and let others help if they offer. I would love to bring you and Cody a home cooked dinner. I promise it will put weight on Cody. Let me know if I can do that for you.
