MEDICAL UPDATE WED 11:23PM

GOOD NEWS: Cody got his staples out!!! 63 staples and he saved the last staple pulled for the book. He did great!!  He got his imaging scan and we will get the results tomorrow. We were at the hospital from 3:30 to 8:30 mostly waiting for prescriptions we were very happy to get back home needless to say.

Dr. Ledyard is happy with his progress and used a gentle hand removing the staples. I did take a bunch of photos during the process which I am sure helped her focus.

We have rehab tomorrow as usual, and Cody will be and has been focusing on his balancing which is one of the more challenging aspects of his recovery. The hearing does play a part in this as well and will take some time getting used too.  He is doing really well and we are packing on some pounds so all is good on that front.

I will let you know asap about the test results thank you all for your help and support it is inspiring!!

For Now Until Then
Draven

Ouch...63 staples pulled. Good thing I sent a care package and should be in mailbox on Friday.

You all are doing so well, and the way you approach this thing called TBI reminds me of when I function best. Take each day as it comes, making it the best possible day with in my grasp and laughing often....the future takes care of itself. I know you have the laughing down Cody, with that wicked sense of humor. Thanks for your example, and here's to a great Thursday.

Draven, some day I hope to meet you. I am so impressed by your intense, loving care of Cody that you will be a life long example for my kids of how siblings should take care of each other. Each day I follow your updates as if I were Cody's mother and find myself holding my breath when there is any medical uncertainty pending. Today is the FIS downhill in La Parva and I have Cody very present in my thoughts.

    Cody,
Although we have never met, I grew up racing with your sister Chelsea and my younger brother Dustin recently went to Chile with Tucker.

I just wanted to say that your determination is incredible and your positive attitude and hard work are exemplary! Keep fighting! There are a lot of people in Stowe, Vermont praying and rooting for you!

    Be well,

Draven - talk to the therapists about a Wii balance board - it has some great exercises and "games" that help with balance!
