HOME UPDATE FRIDAY 7:00PM

Busy, Busy week.

Tucker flew in yesterday Chelsea comes back Sunday so we will have a full house again. I am in the process of making lasagna it's in the oven so that gives me a few minutes to update everyone. Cody is busy doing rehab and trying to gain back his strength, it was a long week and we are beat.

I don't even remember the days or hours anymore they just go by quickly. It seems there are not enough hours in the day to do everything. We get his evaluations next week. The CT Scan looked good, it shows there is no bleeding but there is a small collection of fluid on the side of his head which is why it is still swollen and looks like a large bump. This wil take months to go away according to the Doc's. However they think he is progressing well.

We have another full week of rehab next week and will be having some meetings to chart out a plan for Cody with both Life and the USSA. I am trying to put this together by Tuesday so we can have some sense of what the plan will be and know what decisions will have to be made the closer we get to winter.

I have not had a chance to get to emails yet but will work on it this weekend. Jess continues to work with Cody and push him to the next level I really feel good and lucky that we have her. Cody has a long road through recovery and at times it just feels so overwhelming for even me so I can't begin to imagine what he is going through.

Over the next week I will be reaching out to his sponsors and such regarding Cody's plan, the fundraiser, etc. I have not heard from any of the ski companies yet including his sponsors, which is rather surprising.... I am hoping to get in touch with them shortly, I am assuming it is because they don't know when it is best to make contact during this recovery period. It is such a close knit community I would assume they would love to reach out and show their support as the community has been so amazing.  If that is the case now is good Friends@thinkcody.com if you want to contact me directly that is.....

Well, Cody say's hello and thank you to all. I am going to get back cooking. Mrs. B thank you for the care package amazing as always!!!     Mom Thank You so much, You are the best! You always know what I need! I miss you terribly. Hugs to London.

For Now Until Then
Draven

P.S. Chelsea where is my phone call.... sheesh, I know you're upset about my winning the cookie competition but...never give up, never give in. Love you Lady! Can't wait to see you Sunday. Thai Food!!!

It's great to hear Cody is doing so well!!! What is his favorite rehab/exercise thus far? Does he get time away from rehab to lounge around and do absolutely nothing ;-] Kidding of course.

Keep up the amazing, steady, strong, progress. I'm looking forward to hearing more and more updates - Colby Scudder

Hey Cody - It's getting frosty this weekend in Vermont and the luscious colors are beginning to vibrate on the maples and over the peaks. I am getting my usual "ski fever" and hope I can afford to ski this winter. So I can only imagine the determination you have to get back on snow. Ski addicts - it takes one to know one. If you remember, I wrote to yo about my mom who fell on cement and fractured her skull and broke some vertebrae. She is still sometimes dizzy, but is taking walks of several miles now. (at least it is forcing her to retire from teaching - aged 79????). So, it sounds like your scans are positive and that it will just be a matter of working all of the synapses and muscles to get balance etc going for the slopes. Draven - never met you but you are amazing keeping up with Cody's care and feeding. Keep it up.Deborah

Hi Cody. My daughter told me about you and so I have been following your story ever since July. I met your mom in several PSIA-E ski clinics (and boy can she ski!). I think you will agree that if there were an award for National Caregiver of the Year, Draven would be IT! You are so very lucky to have someone like him. I am sure you are itching to get on snow and I am also sure that that will happen. We just do not know when.
Meanwhile do your PT as ordered!! And I wish you only the best as you fully recover!!

    Hi there Draven and Cody.

    Greetings from Pituitaryland!

(sorry, if you remember, I'm the guy from London with the Pituitary hospitalisation eight years ago). Great to read about all the progress. I'm still thinking Cody, and hope everything keeps progressing nicely. I supect there will be peaks and troughs, but keep the long-term view. Cody, I hope you really enjoy getting back on skis when the time's right!

    Cheers,

    Stephen Booth.
