California Update Saturday 8:00pm Cody
Well,
It seems like I upset some people yesterday a little bit... Sorry, I
was just making light of the situation and had only brought up surfing
because as I was about to write for the blog I received another e-mail
telling me how else I should spend my time on the weekend. I understand
why people are worried but please trust that we wouldn't do anything
that would jeopardize my recovery.
We are still loving the California life down here! Unfortunately Jesse was working all day today as well. I dont really know why... I thought Saturdays were off! Draven and I went out and met up with Jesse for some coffee which was terrible! Im being totally serious. I was so excited for just a nice full cup, maybe in a ceramic mug of regular black coffee! After ordering I expected my coffee in about 30 seconds, maybe a minute. About ten minutes later they finally have our beverages ready. Sadly for me they dont have any regular coffee left! Are you kidding me! We are at a coffee house in orange county and they are out of regular coffee?? can't they make more? Im still mad about it! Im never going back there again!
One day of racing finished in Soelden! The real fun starts tomorrow! Send all your fast vibes to Ted, Jake, Warner, Tim, and Tommy!
I do appreciate all the comments of support!!
Thank you guys for keeping me going...

Thanks for the post today Cody!
Thanks for sharing your journey with the world. You are amazing and a miracle! Your family and friends are a true testimony of faith and love -- what a great example for ALL!!
Sorry to hear about the coffee. Sounds terrible!! How hard is it to make a cup of "regular" coffee!
Please forgive my comment about checking with your doctor (and mom!) ! I certainly intended no offense to anyone and I hope it didn't offend anyone. I was just being a mom, but I was really unnecessarily adding my thoughts. You are in great caring hands!!
Keep your wonderful attitude! Oh the places you will go!!!
Better luck on the coffee!

Hi Cody,
Well, I can relate! But, I am a Decaf Tea drinker and had that happen often. You "GO with the FLOW" and try something different! Know what, maybe the meds you are on are changing your taste buds!! I know when I had the Rotator cuff surgery, yes from a ski fall and on Pain meds, some foods did not taste good and they were ones I liked, before.
Keep up the good work and the PT exercises. You are lucky to have Draven and others. CLOSE.. to cheer you on and help with food plans and other workout activities, from the normal PT dull work!
Just BE CAREFUL, we want you back on the slopes. I mentioned you and your Web site at the OKEMO Job Fair and the Radio Station lady said she would pass the work to the VT folks about how well you are doing!
GO CODY!
No snow in WIlbraham yet! Just lots of leaves falling.

Hey Cody,
Glad you are enjoying CA. You are making great progress and all of us at the Holiday Valley Training Center (Ellicottville, NY) continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Not sure who is handling the Tee shirt fund raiser for you and your family but would like to speak to someone on how we might be able to help sell them here in WNY. I have a few ideas. Maybe Draven, Jesse could give me a call and we can set something up. Not sure if you remember all of us (Slush Cup, Miguel, Nenno's, The Depot and Hot Rocks concert) but we sure remember you. I still have your Dynaster SL skis (no edges left)but i will hang on to them for old time sake.
I have been following your progress from the get go and must say you are one tough and determined hombre'. You keep your head up Cody, stay tough and continue to take each step as it comes with the same grit and smile that your trade marks.I have never met or spoken to Draven but Please tell Draven that i have a ton of respect and admiration for the incredible responsibility he has taken on for your care. From my view Draven has brought a balance of integrity, support, sensitivity, love, compassion, medical toughness, assertion, intelligence, loyalty and plain old reliability and "being there" in a difficult time with so much at stake. Not an easy task trying to balance out what is best for you, family, medical staff, treatments, rehab, ups & downs and his own personal needs. From what i have learned and what has resonated within me through this THINKCODY.COM journey is that Draven has displayed a unique level of commitment and compassion that is above and beyond what is regularly NOT seen in this day of age. I would trust Draven with MY life from what i know of him by now. So Codeman, if Draven thinks you are up to surfing, bowling, hiking or SL training for that matter, you are in very good hands!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just keep the helemet on buddy, no arguments.
Take care and hope to hear from you.
God Bless and Go Cody!!!!!!!!

Cody,
Being a coffee dude myself, sorry to here about your misfortunes with the cup of joe that you so patiently waited for. That is just not cool. Some one dropped the ball on that deal, aye.
If I had a few extra bucks, I would fedex you a huge cup of coffee from Starbucks, Michigan style!.
And I certainly agree with Bob Wright on his blog, you are very fortunate to have Draven there to help you these past several months. That is just a great committment from Draven to help with everything bascially. Draven keep on being strong and eyes open for Cody.
Stay focused Cody Man, and keep working hard in PT. I will have a big cup of Joe for ya.

Geeze I know! It's so hard to get a good cup of Joe here in the United States. Every other country in the world has good coffee no matter how rich or poor. I make my own with the organic beans ground fresh each morning and a nice espresso maker. Now that's good Joe! I recall mornings away from home hitting 3-4 places and still not finding what I need. -A decent cup of coffee that cost less than a hundred bucks. I'm venting with you Cody. Enjoy California sunshine and please don't fall on your head. Love Karen

What fantastic skiing by Ted and Lindsay! I think our other guys and gals (and fans, hopefully) got a lesson in just how hard it is to ski at the very top level, and now they're inspired by what an incredible athletic feat it is to shred a tough hill like Soelden. I think they'll use that inspiration to bring their own skiing to that level! Especially Cody; you'll get there in good time!
Regarding the recent turbulence in the ThinkCody blog - Web forums ALWAYS have misunderstandings like this; It's due to the imperfect nature of this form of communication and everybody just has to roll with it a little. Draven did a great job of a measured response to reassure everyone. It seems to me that if people don't write what they feel, then nobody will know those feelings are out there and they won't be addressed. If anonymity helps someone to be honest, I think that's a good thing, so I don't think we should criticize the person, only criticize what they have said, diplomatically if possible so everyone calms down and we get back to the warm feelings that usually characterize the ThinkCody blog.
