Skiing, Christmas and other stuff....SAT DEC 19TH 6:30PM
Life in Vermont is great. I have a clear focus on what I want toaccomplish in the next six months and very few things are around todistract me. It's so quiet here and you're isolated in a lot of ways.It was amusing to have Fox sports come in to my living room to do astory on my recovery last night. If you guys are interested it will beairing on Wednesday night on the East coast.
My older brother Jesse will be coming home for Christmas! I called hima couple nights ago and asked him when the last time he skied was. Veryquickly he answered "February 13, 2006" I thought wow that's reallydepressing you know exactly when you skied last. Jesse had backproblems for years while he was on the national team and finally onFebruary 13th he couldn't ski anymore. He flew home from Europe and hadto have surgery on his back ending his career. I suggested that we bothhave our first day back on snow together. It's been a little longer forhim but it will be a huge day for both of us. He loved the idea and weare going to head up to Killington (where we both learned to ski) nextweek. It means a lot to me to have Jesse with me on this day and therest of my family will be there as well.

Cody, this is truly awesome! I have watched your progress through this blog and am amazed at how well you have done. I now live in Barre, VT and it's great to hear about your return to Killington. I'm sure it will be an awesome day for you and your Brother!

Cody, It is so great that Fox did a story on you. I can't wait to see it. Your progress has been amazing and so great to follow. I hope your first day back on skis will be everything you have hoped for. Take care and have a Merry Christmas.

Hey Cody,
It is really great to here how focused you are and that you are doing well. I was hitting the slopes this past weekend at Holiday valley and ran into many of the coaches and the SLUSH CUP gang. They all wanted me to pass on a huge hello to you. Guess what..you are welcome to HV any time. You and i have to talk as you are quite "famous" there and we can kick around some old stories. A little test to see how your memory is coming along and your laughability. Still have your Dynastar SL skies locked and loaded under the bed if you need them. If i get up to Killington it would be an honor to make a few runs with you. Need an update on your cell number so i can reach you.

That is wonderful news that Jesse will be with you when you get back on the snow. I'm sure it will be very emotional for both of you. There is so much to be thankful for, and your recovery is one of the things I'm thankful for this year. Have a wonderful holiday with your family and have fun at Killington!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS! And, Be Careful! My younger brother (55yrs old) fell while skiing on Saturday and has broken, in 4 places) his collar bone! OUCH! He has been skiing since he was 16 and works at OKEMO. So, the best do fall! You please take it easy! He was on a blue trail!!! SO.... Accidents happen! is ski season is done! Double UGH! He is a 70 day a winter skier and he also has a full time job at UTC.

GREAT NEWS, CODY! I remember my first day back on the snow after my skiing tbi accident. It took me 3 years! You are amazing. Take it easy, wear your helmet, and try, with ALL of your might, to fight the dare-devil and speedster in you! You are still healing! I hope you enjoy the the weekend with Jesse! Hopefully you will have great snow (it's a beautiful fluffy white powder here in Colorado!)

I hope that Cody will be able to resume skiing soon. I wish him a speedy recovery. I am happy to note that Fox sports will be showing the story regarding Cody’s recovery. I am not going to miss it. I have the feeling that the spirit of skiing is in his blood. He points out that his brother is also a skier. I hope that both of them will be enjoying this Christmas together. I am wishing them a really wonderful Christmas.
